Division of labor within the worker caste of the colony is dependent upon the age of the worker and the needs of the colony. Listed below are six possible duties of a worker, arrange them in the order they would be performed bu an individual bee. Use numbers 1-6, 1=first activity and 6=last activity.
Producing wax and building comb.
Serving as nurse bees (feeding the brood).
Handling incoming nectar from foragers.
Field bees collecting pollen and nectar.
Cleaning brood cells, preparing them for the queen to lay in.
Serve as guard bees at the hive entrance.
Name two ways in which the honey bee colony uses water.
If a virgin queen is prevented from going on her mating flight, she will lose the urge to mate in approximately:

Queens are capable of laying 2500 eggs per day. (True or False)
Cells used for the storage of pollen in the brood nest are never capped. (True or False)

Honey bee colonies use water to cool the inside of the hive and maintain the optimum humidity with the hive. It is also used to dilute thick honey and to liquify crystalized honey. Water is needed in their own diet and to raise brood. The water requirement is quite extensive, especially in the spring when large amounts of larval food must be secreted by the nurse bees.
A 3 weeks
False Estimates as to the number of eggs that a queen can lay in a day are highly variable: ranging between 1500 and 2000.
False Pollen cells are usually not capped over unless a layer of honey is placed on top of the pollen. Pollen stored in this way retains its nutritive value for a year or more. Honey sealed cells are intended for winter use or were filled accidently due to extremely high nectar flow.
